Minimum age of the driver must be 23 years old or the driving license must be issued at least (12) twelve months before the date of renting a car. Maximum age 75.

For all groups a valid Credit Card accepted by Sapphire, must be shown for the charge of the renter’s liability  as well as the settlement of final rental charges.

Upon pick up of the vehicle, Sapphire will charge an amount from the driver’s credit card as a deposit for guarantee which will be fully refunded at the end of the rental, provided no other charges arise. Please note that the refund can take up to 14 days, depending on the issuing bank of the credit card. The amount of the deposit is 450-1500 € depending on the car group.

Not accepted: Someone else’s card (including family members). Any Prepaid Card, Any Debit Card, Any Virtual Payment (eg. Google pay, Apple Pay, N26, Revolut)

A valid driving license held for at least (12) months is required from the driver. For more information over the accepted Driving License per country of origin, please see below.

At the end of the agreed rental period, Sapphire allows a grace period of 30 minutes free of charge after which, the renter  will be charged with a minimum of one full day rental.

Cancellation of a booking must be made a minimum of forty eight (48) hours before the rental of the vehicle is due to commence, pursuant to a booking made on this booking engine. If you wish to cancel a booking, the only accepted method is through our sapphire web page.

In case of cancellations of bookings the following charges will be applied:

• In the event of a cancellation notice which is received by sapphire at least forty eight (48) hours before the rental of the vehicle is due to commence, pursuant to a booking made on this booking engine, all funds will be reimbursed.

• In the event of a cancellation notice which is received by sapphire less than forty eight (48) hours before the rental of the vehicle is due to commence, pursuant to a booking made on this booking engine, the first day funds paid will be charged.

• In the event that the client does not show up to pick up the vehicle or fails to provide the correct documents for the rental agreement the full reservation period  will be charged.

All fines resulting from the drivers conduct are born solely by the renter.
If fines are not paid by the renter, a handling charge of 50,00 € will be charged to the renter.

All authorized drivers of Sapphire vehicles are covered from Liability Insurance to Third Party death, injury, and property. Both coverage’s are subject to General Terms of the Sapphire’s insurance contract with its Insurer.

The renters liability for damage to the rented vehicle, can be reduced, (under the condition that the Greek Traffic Law is not violated) to a minimum charge.
The renter may reduce the above liability to a minimum charge by upgrading the insurance with extra cost per day of €12 – €44, depending on the vehicle group.

Damage to the underside of the car, the wheels and the tyres is not covered.

For a charge of €6 to €35 respectively per rental day if accepted, reduces the renter’s financial responsibility in case of total theft of the Sapphire vehicle to € 450 – € 1500. This excludes any thefts of personal effects(personal belonging) .

For an extra charge per day, Personal Accident Coverage can be obtained covering driver´s and passenger´s medical expenses resulting from an accident with the rented vehicle up to €5,000 and for the loss of life or total / partial permanent disablement: up to €70,000 and €17,600 respectively. Aggregate indemnity for every accident is limited to €88,000.

In case of an accident regardless of renter’s liability as well as due to violation of the Greek traffic laws, the renter has the obligation to pay Sapphire Rental a non refundable fee of €30 – €90 + VAT, to cover administration expenses.

An additional daily charge will be applied for every extra driver.

For any rental periods and at the start of rental, the renter is required to pre-pay the cost of any fuel in the tank of the vehicle to be rented. Upon return and only then, of the rented vehicle, the renter may request a refund of the cost for any remaining amount of fuel in the tank, which if less than that of initial pre-paid quantity, a Refueling Service Charges will be applied.

The Company reserves the right to provide a different car model to that originally reserved of an equivalent or higher model type.

Every collection or delivery which does not take place at a Sapphire location (if it possible) shall be charged with an extra collection or delivery fee.

The charge for every delivery or collection outside working hours is charged with an extra fee.

Applicable between Sapphire locations following a written authorization and a special charge agreement with Sapphire.

Not Allowed at any case

Allowed only by a prior written agreement from Sapphire and additional insurance with a surcharge. Please note that any damage to the vehicle in transit ferry or boat will be not covered by any insurance.

All our rental agreement are covered by a 24 hour road assistance around the country of Greece. Please contact the road assistance number that is written on your rental contract or Sapphire office.

All rates and charges  are subjected V.A.T. At some locations a municipal tax of 0.5% is added to the rental rate.
